Do I have to use a double boiler to melt my chocolate?

You can use a heavy saucepan on low heat to melt chocolate, stirring until it is smooth. Or place the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes for 3 ounces of chocolate, stirring occasionally until smooth.

Try some of these chocolate recipes.

And He scores!!!!

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

Well, no. But chocolate scorches very easily so the double boiler is  certainly the best way.

I have never tried this, but you might be able to melt it with a very low power setting in the microwave.

Good luck.

Melting chocolate is not as hard as you think..I use a glass bowl over simmering water that does not touch the bottom of the glass bowl. The trick is not to get the water in the chocolate, not good. Will seeze up the chocolate stir untill smooth. good luck, let me know if it works for you.

You can always melt in your microwave.  Or if you need just a little, I've take a cup and put in a bowl of very hot water

I have used my microwave to melt chocolate fo rmany years. How much you are melting depends on the time you need. I usually melt it at 50% for whatever time I think it needs. I let it go for the time set but I always keep an eye on it. When you take it out of the micro wave before giv ing it more time stir the chocolate very well and the rest might melt.

No. You can place chocolate in the microwave & melt at 10-20 second intervals. Any longer & it may burn. Stir each time you take it out. It won't look like you're getting anywhere at first, but within a couple minutes, you'll see real results.

It is best to use a double boiler made for that reason, but you can make your own by placing the chocolate in a glass bowl and the bowl over a pan of simmering water.  use a pan that fits tightly on the bottom of the glass bowl.
