Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

If it's a question of giving in to sweets (as your topics imply), then one remedy is not to keep sweets in the house.

Secondly, if it's a big issue then you might speak privately to your toddler's pediatrician and/or dentist to see if you can enlist him or her as an ally. A suggestion made by a professional may go over much better with Daddy than one made by Mommy.

Also, perhaps you two can compromise... Decide beforehand what will be cause for 'giving in' and what won't; then you will both have to stick to it, no matter how cute 'that face' looks.

Finally, if you want to let your child have sweets but you want them to be relatively healthy; look for recipes that will please you both. There is a site (for moms, by moms) called breastfeeding.com which may have suggestions along that line; if it does not then you can always post a question and see what other moms have tried.

And there is also a community cooking site I like called Recipezaar.com; it might also have reasonably healthy treat recipes - I know they have several for homemade granola bars, at least.

I'm not sure if that helps any, but good luck to you!
