"I since fired my lawyer and set a court date. Now my husbands attorney is contending that she will sue me for my husbands legal expenses to go to court and that I must sign the mediated agreement."
I've been thru a mediation (it was a busineess thing) and I'm familar with the process. It took several days of back and forth but when the terms were finally agreed upon, both parties, their attorney's, and the Mediator signed a legal document stating that each would abide by the terms. I may be confused but if you didn't sign the mediated agreement, all you have is a piece of paper with no meaning, therefore you have no basis on which to set a court date. Did you hire another attorney and what am I missing?
