I have Media Player 11.0 installed, and I'm trying to see an AVI. It gives me an error that I am missing a codec, but does not specify which one. I downloaded the codec pack, but it doesnt help. The pack once installed says that my media player version should be 10 for the pack to work... I am running windows XP, not Vista. Any ideas how to fix it?..

Download VLC (http://www.videolan.org) - it's much better than WMP and can play pretty much anything without needing to download codecs.

honestly, I don't even remember right now...I remember searching for "download media player 11 codec" and came up with a few links. that's how I got to the pack... I think one was from microsoft site, and one from codec. both said the same - that my media player is above version 10, and thats the max version the pack supports.

argh.... :)
