Live simply, love generously, care deeply,

speak kindly, leave the rest to God.

Hello,

You don't have to have any dealings with your mother-in-law.  Just stay away from her.  If you see her, just be nice and polite.  The most important part is that you and your husband get along and happy together.  Just take care of your family and ignore her.  You won't miss anything.

MY inferiority complex isn't as good as YOURS

Girl, maybe you SHOULD be strong and loud. You are entitled to your opinion and your opinion is that she treats you like crap instead of the mother of her grandchildren.I was married to a chronic cheater and liar who's mother never accepted me because I was a model.I never took my clothes off,but she decided I was a whore and sported a black veil on our wedding day.Towards the end of that (brief) marriage,I told the bitch exactly how I felt. She was a trailer trash harpy who was simply pea green jealous. This is probably true about your MIL too.You have children who aren't (hopefully) on drugs or shacked up with girls who'll turn tricks for a bump.Your husband loves you and has remained by your side for many years. If she cannot respect you in your home, tell her she simply isn't invited.Good luck hon!

even though the sun is so powerful there is always half of the earth that is not lit up.

I believe it is because ur married to her son.  Is he the oldest.  B/c if he is then she is sad tht he is w/ u and not spending more time w/ her.  She obviously still thinks of him as her little boy.  you took tht away from her and she knows it and she knows it is not ur fault but she doesn't want to blame herself so she is blaming you.  she is taking it out on u.

I understand y u would be mad @ her but i think you should talk to her and tell her how you really feel about the situation.  She will respect u for it.  She might even begin to love u and ur kids if she doesn't already.

She says and acts like she likes ur brother in laws girlfriends just to get on ur nerves.  look beond it.

i would highly recomend u watch the movie Monster-In-Law

TLC is not a limited edition

Often people especialy M-i-LAWS cannot show their true feelings or are in denial..she probably loves you too bits but has difficulty in showing it..i think when she is with you she shoots you down and when she is with the other daughters-in-law she shoots them down and praises you..ask them..thats my make-u-feel-better-answer.. Realisticly... U have your own family ,your own kids and loving husband and own HAPPINESS..Enjoy and marvel over that..her opinion is hers and hers alone dont let it get you down..you know your worth as a mother and a wife and maybe she wishes she couldve been as devoted as you ,she could measure herself up to you and finds herself as not a match so she shoots you down..pure jealousy and we all knw that makes u nasty.. Two can play the fun game of tit 4 tat..if u cant beat her join her..look on the bright side M-I-LS arent around forever..BTW what is your husbands opinion about his mums behaviour? And does it create stress in you mariage..those are 2 important questions before any real solution can be found.. Take care and always be yourself.we should measure ourselves by what we are and not what others want us to be

Best to accept things as they are . you will not change her but always stand your ground. Don't allow her to manipulate your life and family. Things are gonna happen and she is gonna try  always be respectfull but stand your ground. Don't allow this woman to run over you. Kill her with kindness when you have to be in her presence but put her in her place respectfully when she is out of line. Don't force her on your family. Your bettter off with as little contact as possible.  Your children will grow to understand things on their own as they get older. From experience  I love my granny but I don't always have to like the way she treated my family and I don't have to accept the abuse.
