SAL

Math word problem

If someone is making 30K a year (excluding taxes) what would they make per hour?  I have an answer I just need to confirm.  Thanks!

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

The answer is not straight forwards.  If you assume that there are some 2000 to 2500 net working hours a year than he is making some 30,000 / 2,500 (= 20 $/hr) or 30,000 / 2,000 ( = 15 $/hr).
If you assume that he earns 30,000 $ in a constant rate every hour (day / night / weekends / hollidays) than you should devide 30,000 by 24 * 360 ........
Best regards,

Is he working full time?

How many hours a week?

How many days off?

Once you have all the numbers, just divide 30K by the accumulated numbers of hours.
