My wife and I are preparing for our first son. One of the issues that came up is the length of the maternity leave. In Israel, where we live, it's 3 months but I heard European countries grant longer durations. How long are maternity leaves in other countries around the world?

I think that pomikiteen already answered this by listing the site, but here in Missouri the maternity leave is 6 weeks. If you have a good job there is a possibility of 12 weeks.
I live in California and the general maternity leave is only 6 weeks. If you have a c-section you receive 8 weeks off.
