Personally, I like matching pure colors (red, orange, yellow, blue and so on - the colors on the color circle) with something that's a little "off" either a tint (color + white) or a shade (color + black) or a toke (color + black + white) - for a more sophisticated less noisy look.

With Orange I would  probably use cream (a tint of yellow), light pink (a tint of magenta), Brown (a shade of red orange) or, my all time favorite - Teal (a toke of green-blue).

It really depends on what you are looking to achieve and what this is for - temporary projects like a thanksgiving dinner or an outfit can bare wilder choices of colors then a logo or a living room.
