Marketing a new web page

I've built a new web page. I've also submitted it to the search engines. Nevertheless, first visitor is yet to appear. What am I doing wrong?

It's hard to say anything specific when you've not given the URL, but here's some general advice, with links to further information:

  1. Register your site at Google Webmaster Tools
  2. Create a sitemap and submit it to the major search engines
  3. Follow the generally accepted practices to optimize your pages for search engines
