I personally don't think he's more influtential than Google or Apple, but for being self-employed, he's done very well for himself.

I really don't think you can call him most influential!!!. Sure, he managed to make a lot of money by noticing a need in the internet world and answering it but I think the Facebook rave will pass just as it came.
The reason is that the amount of spam and ridiculous content over the site is getting out of hand. If this keeps up people will get sick and tired of facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg is going to be remembered as the one who got MySpace competitive and innovative. That is a very good thing, but I would say it is facebook who is now behind on the innovation. The video and image integration is better... but frankly Yedda interactions are superior to the messaging in facebook. MySpace Skype implementation will kill facebook video and Google is where it's happening. Open Social Net is going to bust it all open. Sites like Yedda will be able to put in a graffiti board. This is the most exciting thing. facebook is capitalizing on ten year old technology, Google is promising to set the information free. What is more innovative in the social? Sharing or Hoarding information? My vamplire just bit you.
