Marijuana charge in Annapolis MD

My cousin was recently picked up for a drug possession charge in Annapolis Maryland one week ago. He had about one ounce of marijuana on him in his car. He was able to make bail. he is adament about defending himself and not getting a criminal defense lawyer. What can I do to change his mind? He is looking at possible jail time and having a criminal backgound.

Maryland has tough drug charge laws. You need to tell him if he thinks he is defending himself for a Maryland drug charge offense he is crazy. I would immediately contact a lawyer or lawyers!!  There are tons of good Maryland criminal lawyers and this is exactly who he needs to contact.

I found a pretty good site for lawyers (targetlaw). I have attached it in this link - Lawyer Search. - Tell him to type in Criminal attorney and contact someone and get a few opinions.

5 thumbs up

Was he driving while in possesion of marijuana? He could lose his license if this is the case. That might wake him up to get a lawyer. I find that younger folks can't live without their cars. Also, they don't have much internet access in prison, so no Myspace etc...

As I mentioned in a couple of other posts, I highly recommend that you do a lawyer search in Annapolis MD for a drug defense attorney. I just spoke to a criminal lawyer based in Baltimore for my son who was charged with underage drinking and assault. The lawyer I spoke to was compassionate and understanding of my situation. I will let you know how the court date turns out.
