Well Ashley, don't we see that she is REALLY lacking in self-esteem?! If we let others dictate what we do or how we look, we cannot cultivate our own locus of control. Sometimes guys see that as an opportunity to "protect" a girl, but knowing what to protect her from can quickly become a domination issue since the issue becomes too complex for the typical male orientation the further you get into it. Mariah has probably been through a number of these relationships, but very few if any have promoted value in her personal growth factors. Somewhere along the line she must have bought that she isn't worth anything except for that which she sees in other people's eyes. After that it's all downhill. Devils advocate point of view?
