Makeup- Any shortcuts?

I would like to start wearing makeup, but it seems like too much work... Is there a way to get the "makeup" effect without putting on foundation and blush ?

Dear Pam,

In my opinion, the thing about makeup, foundation etc. depends really about the kind of skin you have. I actually wear makeup all the time, and I rarely use all of the above.

Basically, what makeup and the other stuff you mentioned are designed to do, is to even up your skin, remove signs of humidity and/or any imperfections.  What I found very useful is actually using only powder. What i use, is Boaz Stein's powder. It looks white, but in fact its transparent and therefore suitable for all skin.  If you intend to apply eye shadow as well, the powder will help it spread evenly, and stay on for much longer.
If you're not used to wearing makeup I would add just blush, and mascara - believe me - they do the trick! Smile

So, good luck and more important - enjoy it!

In Addtion to what Hila wrote-

it depends, if your skin is smooth and even-toned enough, you probably don't need the foundation. By emphasizing certain aspects (like your eyes or lips) it draws attention from your skin and to those specific parts.I definitely agree with Hila- You do get an overall make-upy effect because mascara, eyelienr and lipstick are noticeable enough.

There are some nice guidlines for makeup, but no rules - you don't have to aquire and use the entire ensemble and you don't have to spend an hour in front of the mirror in the morning. I agree with Hila on the issue of face powder, and personally I don't use any foundation or cream makeup - just concealer and face powder by nivea. On nice sunny days I don't even use face powder, just a concealer stick for undereye and spot coverage.

Fool-proof and quick makeup can just be a swipe of mascara and a few swipes of blush, add some lip balm (or lipgloss if you're so inclined) and you're out the door in 3 minutes.

L'oreal have some great blush compacts that come in great colors and even work great on skin that hasn't been powder-packed. Labello and Blistex have some tinted lipbalm and Maybelline make some very nice mascaras.

Hi. If you don't want to take the time to apply foundation, powder and blush, just buy a powder bronzer. You can quickly brush it on and it will give your face a natural glow and add color. Hope this helps. MJ.

if you have good skin, forget about it.  just use a face cream with some sunscreen & be a natural beauty.
