Maine School Cancellations Snow

How do kids spend their time when their school is canceled due to the snow and ice?

I'm just curious because of the Maine weather conditions.

Most kids probably just hang around and watch TV or play computer games. Usually when school is canceled thanks to weather, it happens at the last minute and the parents or kids themselves don't have time to arrange a more productive activity. Add on that the fact that you can't go and play outside and it becomes clear why these indoor activities are high on the DO list.

Have a great dayLaughing.

They mostly play video games.  But the active ones are outside playing in the snow.  Some are studying for

school

Im a thirteen year old girl that lives in Bangor Maine. We had a snow day today and the ideal thing to do is go sledding. Even though im a little old for the classic winter activity. My friends enjoy it greatly. The winter in Maine is very cold and snowy so it is perfect for kids to have fun in the snow.

The activities of a 'Snow day' really depend on the age group you focus on. Younger kids tend to play outside in the snow, sit and watch TV, or play video games. While high school level students are usually with a group of friends. Sometimes high school level students get together and go to a movie later on in the day (depending on weather), or go out to eat.

But mostly, at least around where I am in Southern Maine, it's just a day to relax. A lot of people regardless of age sleep in relatively late, and then just find something spur of the moment to do. Unless there has been a lot of Snow for a couple days, you usually find out the morning school is canceled, so there isn't a lot of time to plan.
