Maid of honor toasts?

Looking for some samples of maid of honor toasts or even bridesmaid speeches that I can adapt to suit a maid of honor speech (the two should be similar enough?)

Also, I will be speaking in front of quite a lot of people so I would appreciate any help / advice on calming the nerves in front of a large expecting crowd. The bride is a really fabulous person and I don't want to mess it up...

Do you know of any websites that offer good information on maid of honor toasts or speeches?

Thanks.

Nice answer Jennifer thanks,
remember, you must confirm your Yedda subscription in the mail Yedda sends you or they cancel your account, nasty - I know I speak from experience! Plus they don't make it very clear either....

Hi, yes I spent hours searching for maid of honor toasts on the internet - unfortunately I had left my maid of honor speech right until the 2nd last night before the wedding and didn't leave myself much time to prepare.
I can laugh about it now but at the time I was in a state of panic.

Luckily I did find something worthwhile - Dan Steven's maid of honor toasts . There was a small fee at the time (perhaps 19 dollars, might be more now?) which I very gladly paid (given my predicament), I had a quick look at which maid of honor speech would best suit the audience, circumstances and my style.
I'm not embarassed to admit that I copied most of it (ahem), added some of the free jokes (I had one or 2 personal jokes in ammunition) and added some personal stories.

The process went very fast, I had the whole speech prepared within 40 minutes, and most importantly it was original, funny and sincere.
Because I already had a base to work from, it made adding my personal points fun rather than a task.
For the speed and peace of mind, I would do it again.

I didn't memorize my maid of honor toast, I only had the main points on cards (which are better than paper - people can see shaky paper!)
The audience laughed freely, I was told the speech sounded very professional, and many (including the bride and groom) were quite surprised.

For my nerves , I used the "Audio confidence booster" which is free with the speeches; and as I said before I used some jokes from the joke book that was also included.

Best of luck, I hope that helps with your search for maid of honor toasts.

For the maid of honor toast, I prefer the ones that start with an anecdote - how you met, the first time you met her husband, and other personal stories.

NO dirty jokes. Say how much you like the husband and them as a couple and end with a toast. It should be no more than 5 minutes long.

Maid of Honor and Best Man Speeches?

When during dinner do the Maid of Honor and Best Man make their speeches...before eating or during? Also, did your DJ/Band play any music during dinner?

The Maid of Honor does not usually make any speech, but if you are going to do one it does not need to be long or very involved. Just speak from your heart and wish the newlyweds all the good things you can think of and it will be fine
