There are two types of Macbooks, the normal one and MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro have a 15.4" screen with 1440x990 resolution and a 17" version with 1680x1050 resolution. They start from a Dual Core Duo 2 running at 2.2Ghz. Their case seems to be harder and more resilient.

MacBook have a 13" screen with a 1280x800 resolution and start have an Intel Core Duo 2 running at 2.13Ghz.

The MacBook Pro have larger screen and better specs.

If size is important to you and you are not a hard core developer in need of a big screen and a very fast machine, you can get along with a MacBook. If you want a very high spec machine with a big and good screen, go for the MacBook Pro.

Other than that they are both fine machines.
