Hi Sandy,

I'll suggest what might be the easiest thing first. I'm still using Word 2002 & here's how to do it on that, in the hope that it's similar in Word 2007:

On the menu bar, click File --> page setup. Click the Layout tab & under 'Headers & Footers' click the box next to where it says "Different first page" then click OK. With the cursor anywhere in the document, put the header in page one in the usual way & then close the 'Headers & Footers' box. If it still shows on subsequent pages, delete those headers page by page (you'll need to scroll down the document so your cursor's  on the relevant pages). You can check by using 'Print layout view' from the View menu or, of course, by looking at a print preview.

I hope that works. If not, here's a link to a video about Headers & Footers which covers everything, including that, but you'll have to put up with ads to start with & watching how to do stuff you probably already know about.

I hope this answer turns out to be helpful.
