If you want it done and done right the first time do it yourself

could have ran out of fuel may need to prime sytem diesel has a fuel filter that could be clogged try replacing that first turn key on without starting to prime system wait a few seconds turn key on again without starting vehical repete this a few times than try to start hopfully it works otherwise when turning key on position without startin listen for fuel pump if you hear a sound from fuel tank pump is working if no sound may need new fuel pump or could be loose conecton may want someone else to listen under vehical at fuel tank while turning key to on position good luck Jon

""Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and the American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.""---Tony Blair, British Prime Minister.

The "something" that was squirted into it was most likely ether starting fluid. Most diesel engine manufacturers caution against using ether, as they claim it can cause engine damage. I've used it over the years countless times, and haven't ruined a diesel yet. I don't know the specifics for your diesel, but hard starting is almost always associated with a malfunction of the glow plugs.

Diesels are very sensitive to cranking speed, and a slightly low battery could also cause it to be hard to start. Of course, it could be as simple as a dirty fuel or air filter, or a bad fuel pump, but those items can't be overcome by an ether boost at start up.
