The M-spike is seen as an abnormality in the serum protein electrophoresis (image shown below).
The bump on the right is called the gamma fraction. This contains the antibodies that fight infection. MM is a type of cancer where one particular strain of antibody is overproduced. The extra amount of this antibody shows up as a bump or spike in the gamma region. As it increases, it means more of the extra antibody is being produced. As it increases, it will get to a certain point where the condition will be called MM.
I can't help you with the 1.02 figure. It represents the amount of the abnormal antibody that is present.
