Losing weight is too easy

I am on a self diet. I track all that I eat, and average about 1700 cals per day. On Jan 9 I weighed 280. Today I weigh 239. I'm averaging just under 4 lbs per wk. They say losing over 2 lbs is not good for you. I feel great, have no medical problems, am over 100% MDR for all vits and minerals (I use FitDay to track). Am I losing too fast?, and if so, why.

If it works for you, and you're happy, I guess that's great. Beware that the body might require some adjustments, and it might and probably will hit a level where it stops losing weight. The hardest part of any diet is to keep the weight loss and not gain back.

I do suggest you go over your eating plan with an expert, because it sounds like you're not eating enough, which could result in your losing lean m,ass rather than fat, and that defeats the purpose.

Every story has an end but in life, every end is just a new beginning.

It sounds like it's working for you.  I think if you are unsure about the health risks, you should be in touch with your primary care physician just to make sure all your vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) are ok during this process. Good luck and keep up the great work!
