I'd like to add that more often that not, when a woman is nervous, her body tightens up, and the vaginal area becomes extremely dry, often times making sex more uncomfortable for her. It's important to stay relaxed in your mind, which in turns relaxes the body. (It may also be a good idea to think about a lubricant that contains spermicide). Assuming you are emotionally ready, comfortable with your body, and trust your partner, your first time can be a window toward many new and exciting experiences.

 Always make sure to use protection as this is the safest way (outside of abstinence) to avoid pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

It sounds to me like you're considering taking this very important step, but are not entirely sure it is the right thing for you.

Take as long as you want to deliberate, and don't let anyone pressure you.
