There is absolutely no excuse for being violent to a child. If one can't deal with the behavior of a child, than they should not involve themself in it. Beating a kid does nothing but teach them fear and anger. It never corrects a situation. It blows my mind that in this day and age this is even an issue. To hit another, especially a child, is the result of giving in to the idea that one has no real power, no control over the situation, so they resort to acting like a scared child and hit the other causing nothing but pain and fear. The only thing that is taught is fear.
