Not much because just oatmeal doesn't provide your body with fat or protein so there fore your body would store fat maybe protein too. Why don't you try exercise. I'd rather get out and walk than give up food and oatmeal to me is awful. Even my Mother who used to force me to eat it as a child says she chokes on it now. Walk. It's low impact. It won't hurt you. Turn on your TV to music you like and dance when it's cold ouside. I eat what I want. I eat more in the winter but I don't mind gaining 10 pounds or 15 it keeps me warm I still exercise. I'd a whole rather work the food off than do without it. I've watch my whole family try all kinds of diets. I weigh right now 5 lbs lighter than I did in high school but we haven't had Thanksgiving and Christmas yet. I'm 49. I'm 128 and 5'5. I can live with that. It won't happen quickly with exercise it might take a year but it will happen. My best to you and if you think Oatmeal will get you there go for it. I love to cook and love to eat too much for that and the exercise I do is very little like parking my car far away from the grocery store and walking. Turning on my favorite song from my teen age years (or my daughters) when no one's around and dancing my life away. Walking. Doing yard work. And yes sometimes a few floor exercises that take all of 10 min. but I will never ever eat grits or oatmeal again. Nor will I go hungry. Good luck with your Oatmeal diet but if you are going to start it do it after Christmas.
