Lose weight for good

Whenever I try to diet I always seem to gain weight instead of losing it. I lose and gain weight very easily. I know my best bet is to make a lifestyle change but don't know where to start. Any suggestions? What is the best way to lose weight for good?

stay away from carbohydrates, which are white starchy foods, cook with olive oil, eat chicken with out the skin and no fryed foods, also I have cut of red meats for one month and have lost weight I do not exercise, but keep active. Good luck....

Every story has an end but in life, every end is just a new beginning.

Like you, my weight fluctuates often. I have been struggling for many years with my weight, having tried almost every diet on the market (to no avail). You are right in that losing weight is a lifestyle change. However, it does not mean completely cutting out carbs or sugars. I read a great article called Lifestyle Changes, Not Diets, Are Key To Losing Weight that was published on Medical News Today and I think it really sums up the important aspects that most people need to change to successfully lose weight and keep it off. The three points I spend extra time focusing on are portion control, drinking lots of water and making exercise a part of my daily routine (even if it means taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking my car further from the entrance of a store/restaurant).

I have had the same problem...I started to lose weight by cutting portions, and only eating foods I love. If you hate carrots & celery, don't eat it! If you love pasta, eat a small portion. It will still be there tomorrow & the next day, it's not the last time you'll ever it it. That's how I lost the x-tra lbs. & kept it off for 7 yrs now. (plus I walk 2 miles a day with my dog...that helps)
