Longest work week in the world

As far as I remember, France is the country where the work week is the shortest. But in which country it's the longest?

From a survey of 31 countries in 2004, the OECD found that Korea had the longest annual hours actually worked per worker: 2394 hours.  (The longest work year would necessarily also be the longest work week.)  The next longest was Greece with 2060 hours.  France had a relatively short work year at 1543 hours.  The two shortest were The Netherlands at 1357 hours and Norway at 1363 hours.  (OECD data)

If you wish to have a brooder picture you also have to consider third world countries. Some countries like, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua a quarter of the workforce in regularly worked more than 50 hours a week.


Sometimes the weekly mean balances on lees hours because many part time and unemployed workers are calculated in to the statistics.


So my guess is that the numbers hide some of the truth and third world countries have the longest work week.
