Hi Desirea. I've heard this term used about myself/my body too.. having "a long vaginal canal" Infact, one day I went to a different gynecologist at a Planned Parenthood in Chicago for a quick check-up, and it so happend that they actually had me examined by a Nurse in training with the regular Nurse standing by! That was nerve racking! But what happend is that the "Nurse in training" said she couldn't find my cervix! It scared the heck out of me for a minute, I'd never heard this before! Then the regular Nurse told her that my cervix just went much deeper... which told me it's obviously not a common body structure for a new nurse not to be aware of this possibility. I didn't ask, I wish I would have, but I assumed this is because I'm taller than most women, almost 5'11. I still don't know the reason.
Anyway, I had a common, uneventful birthing experience. My baby came out just fine, no complications or special needs for either of us. Ofcourse you will want to talk this over with a Professional, every womans body is different, but a long vaginal canal is all that it is... it may take the baby a split second longer to enter into the world, that's all.
I will send this question to another Lady I know here on Yedda, a Professional Nurse, she might be able to give you a more precise answer. Just wanted to share my experience with this exact thing. Good luck to you!
