The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Hi Desirea. I've heard this term used about myself/my body too.. having "a long vaginal canal"  Infact, one day I went to a different gynecologist at a Planned Parenthood in Chicago for a quick check-up, and it so happend that they actually had me examined by a Nurse in training with the regular Nurse standing by! That was nerve racking! But what happend is that the "Nurse in training" said she couldn't find my cervix! It scared the heck out of me for a minute, I'd never heard this before! Then the regular Nurse told her that my cervix just went much deeper... which told me it's obviously not a common body structure for a new nurse not to be aware of this possibility. I didn't ask, I wish I would have, but I assumed this is because I'm taller than most women, almost 5'11. I still don't know the reason.

Anyway, I had a common, uneventful birthing experience. My baby came out just fine, no complications or special needs for either of us.  Ofcourse you will want to talk this over with a Professional, every womans body is different, but a long vaginal canal is all that it is... it may take the baby a split second longer to enter into the world, that's all.

I will send this question to another Lady I know here on Yedda, a Professional Nurse, she might be able to give you a more precise answer. Just wanted to share my experience with this exact thing.  Good luck to you!

Happy Valentine's. Play us a rose, you're organic, man.

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

Having a long vaginal canal means that that is the way the GOD made you.

It means nothing for childbirth.

It also means that this song went thru my head

I've got a baby her name is Sal
15 years in the Vag-nal Canal
She'll be my infant and she'll be my pal
15 miles in the Vag-nal Canal
I've cared for infants in my day
Changed the Pampers every day
And I know I love them all the way
From Albany to Buffalo.

Please feel free to change to town names here.

Best of luck on your upcoming delivery. I hope that all goes very well for your and your new baby. May GOD bless you both.

Jay

How Can I Get Rid of a Yeast Infection?

QUESTION Dear Midwife, I have had a yeast infection throughout my entire pregnancy. My doctor has tested me for STD's and all are negative. He has prescribed metro gel to me. I have used this every few months. I am now on my 32 week and am using this prescription every other week. Is there something stronger I can use or something I can change or do differently to help? ANSWER Metrogel will not cure a yeast infection; it's for a bacterial infection and can actually cause a yeast infection. Have you tried Diflucan™ (the yeast pill)? There are also over the counter yeast preparations and a heavy duty vaginal cream (Terazol) that might be appropriate. If all these fail, borax washes help some women and the yeast can be cultured to see what will kill it. Other things you can do for yourself include: Eliminating sugars as much as possible (no soda or juices) Only two fruits and two dairies per day Eating more vegetables and proteins Good luck! -- Cynthia, CNM. PhD.
