Long lost grandmother

I have a grandmother whom no one talks to or knows anything about. I am curious how I could go about finding her, not knowing where she lives or even her last name!  Anyone know?!

First you need a name. Can you get a copy of your parent's birth certificate? Then you can begin checking on some of the genealogy web sites or surname message boards. Once you have a name you can also check Social Security's interactivbe search site to determine if she has died. Good luck.
