Why do mobile phones split long text messages apart and send each of them as a different message? is that a tech restriction or just greediness of mobile services providers?

Hi,The cellular providers are limitted in the amount (Bits) of information they can transmit at one time. That's the only reason. I belive that soon the capacity / volume that they can transmit will increase and enable to sent long SMS in one go.Best regards,
