Holidays and travel ..... European destinations and choices for trips or vacations

European travel

Best way to get around on holiday in Europe and in European countries ..... holiday packages are a great way of finding your dream holiday or dream vacation destination

Places to stay or to lay your head - particularly apartments in Barcelona can be a wonderful city but too hot in the summer months.

Have fun and enjoy life

Lonely Planet Guide Book

Lonely Planet Guidebooks or Rough Guides?

Which do you prefer and why?

I like Lonely Planet because I find the rough guides a bit too stuffy and formal - Lonely Planet more quirky

60 thumbs up

It's ironic: The Rough Guide books aren't really as rough -- unpolished and down-to-earth -- as Lonely Planet books.  For example, what the Rough Guide calls "Accommodation," Lonely Planet calls "Where to Sleep."  To be fair, Rough Guide books do have good content.  But until Lonely Planet lets me down, I'll stick with it.
