who is saying that to you? a bf or a husband? either way, it's usually a way to end a relationship[ that has soured. i wouldn't fall for it, I would look for ways to re-vamp it. Try counsoling first.

Sure, and it's often a terrible shock when the other person finds out.  It can be extremely painful to the loving significant other, as often the s/o does not see it coming, and is caught totally by surprise. Even worse, the other person often still loves the unloving s/o, and is happy with the relationship. So, be very gentle and caring in the way the news is broken!
