Living room needs help!!

we just recently bought our dream home...except for the living room it has so many issues, no phone jack, no lights, all the plugs are wired to the one light switch, popcorn ceiling (yuck), gray textured walls, and a brick fireplace. It needs a makeover bad, how can we do this as cheap as possible and keep it inviting?

The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Hi Anita. Sounds like you have a lot of issues with your livingroom! If I were you and money was tight, I would call around to get some estimates. The phone jack problem easy, the phone company will take care of that for you for very little cost.. the rest will require an Electrition, and a Carpenter.

Once you get your (exceptable) estimates, hang on to those names and numbers, and start a "Personal Home improvement account." Save as much money as you can through the next 7 months or so, then call the people you need to get the job done. You could plan that by Thanks Giving or Christmas time you will have the beautiful Livingroom you want.

My Friend Asha makes a good point to get you going in the right direction. If you are interested in a do-it-yourself project post some pictures along with dimensions and I would be glad to give you some economical ideas.
