Fresh tomatoes

Start by chopping about 6 ripe fresh tomatoes in a bowl. You can peel them or not depending on your preference.

  • Step 2 Green onions

Next add 2 green onions using the top green part too. Chop them fine and add them to the chopped tomatoes.

  • Step 3 Garlic

Next, add one clove of finely chopped garlic. To remove the garlic smell from your hands, rinse them in cold water without soap.

  • Step 4 Lemon juice

Next, add the juice from half a lemon. Lime juice can also be used, whichever you prefer.

  • Step 5 Jalapeno pepper

Now, you are ready to add the hot pepper. I like to use a fresh jalapeno pepper. I advise wearing rubber when chopping hot peppers. Personally, I use about a 1/4 of the pepper as I don't like mine too hot. Start out slow and add to taste. You can always add more.

  • Step 6
Cover and let set in the refrigerator for at least a half hour or longer if possible. Sometimes a bowl of this at my house doesn't even make it to the refrigerator, but the flavors blend nicely if it can set awhile. Enjoy!
