"What ifs" will break your heart.GO ON!! LIVE A LITTLE!!!

Life after a broken promise??

I have lived with my boyfriend for 2 years. We split up briefly 2 years ago and then he started talking marriage..even bought a ring.I was good with it because I want to be married again.Recently,he told me that if he married me,it would be against his will.I gave up my own place to live with him on the promise of marriage. Can someone please give me a different point of view because I am really heartbroken and ready to end this relationship.  Thanks

What did he mean "against his will"? Do you threaten to shoot him if he doesn't marry you. Sounds to me like he is just satisfied with the way things are now, with no comittment except on his terms. Tell him how you feel about giving up your place to move to his, and anything else that bothers you about this arrangement. If he feels it's such a chore to marry you, then move out and let him enjoy his freedom. You deserve better than this, and showing him you mean what you say, might make him wake up to what he already has, and what the future could be. I wish you luck and happiness because life is too short to be miserable.

Chickywood, it breaks my heart when I see someone like you get hurt by a user. I think that is probably what he is. If you show him you don't need to put up with his crap he might straighten up and fly right. Honey, it is your feelings and your choice so don't let him forget it. There is always someone who will love to be married to you and want feel like you are holding a gun to his head. Please remember that. Let me know how it turns out. Anne
