Life Is Precious. Thank A Soldier Today. Hug Your Children Today.

This is in memoriam of Captain John L. Hallett III. Captain Hallett died in Afghanistan earlier this week (on Tuesday, August 25, 2009).

He leaves behind a wife and three young children under the age of four - one a newborn daughter he will never get to hold.

Please join me in thanking Captain Hallett for his service and offering condolences to his family for their loss.

God Bless the Soldier by Rhonda Vincent

I met a soldier, on the base at Fort Hood.
I said, 'how do you do it?'
He said, 'there's bad with the good.'
And no matter how tough it gets,
The soldier stands strong.
Keeping our family, flag and country free,
And righting the wrong.

I met a soldier, she was thanking me.
At first it was strange to hear,
Then I started to see.
What it meant to have someone
Appreciate her sacrifice,
And everything she gives for us,
Defending our rights.

-CHORUS-
God bless the soldier
As they walk the streets.
Let them know how much it means
To have them keep our country free.

When you meet a soldier, stand and salute.
Take a moment to show your love
for everything that they do.
Don't be afraid, give them your praise.
For this is the stranger that is willing
To give their life for you.

God bless the soldier.

My deepest sympathies to this hero's family and all the families who have lost family members in war. I thank God everyday for people like this who are willing to risk their lives for our freedom.

Death is hard, I think one man puts it pretty well, and oddly that man is Lemony Snicket.

Death is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try to readjust the way you thought of things. If you have not lost a loved one, you cannot possibly imagine it.

Lemony Snicket

My grandma passed away about seven years ago, and I'm still dealing with it. I know several people who have lost the ones they love in the war, and I take this moment to thank them and Captain John L. Hallett III, for their service, and tell the families, that I'm so sorry for your loss, it's hard, so very hard, to lose those you love. Good luck.

"GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS"

My deepest heart felt thoughts are with you and your family at this time of loss, this is so hard to write as I  can fell the pain that she and the little ones will grow to know. I am so sorry and as I write this the tears that I had been brought up with that you never show, I cannot control, and even knowing that it was as a hero the pain will still be there, please tell the family that I will say a pray for them, just try to get through this, I know it really near is easy, just remember that he was a Hero, that is one thing no one can take away.
