Licking scratch on peri area

My dog has a scatch on his peri area. it is red and he has been licking it. Should I put something on it?

use vicks vaporub  kills most infections and fungus and wont hurt the dog if he licks it

Im sorry but DO NOT put vicks vapor rub on your dog! he can get VERY sick if he licks it. Foot in mouth

Where did you get this information?

Best thing to do is take him to the Vet. It could be a variety of things and listening to anyone tell you to use Vicks vapor Rub, will not only sting, but WILL make the dog SICK.Yell

Thanks,  I did not plan on using vics.  I think it would hurt.

Just glad I read this and you didnt give him any.

What area did you say he has been licking? scratching too? I don't think I'm familiar with the term "peri"Foot in mouth

(as an animal behaviorist, you'de think I SHOULD be! LOL)

I can always learn something new as well.

I hope you have taken your dog to the vet by  now.  There could be infection under that scratch.
