Leg weakness/fatiqued

I wanted to know what you people think I could be getting these symptoms from I've been thinking through the potential reasons for this which isn't good usually for me because I tend to think the worst of things (have mild hypochondria.) So I just wanted to know what you people out there think could be causing this. I tend to not get much sleep through the first 4 days of each school week. So I'm thinking this could be the root of my problems and hopefully it hasn't done any damage to body already because, I read awhile ago that not getting enough sleep each night could lower your immunity to diseases such as cancer and other related viruses.

I believe in fate all things happen for a reason we may not understand why right now yet, one day some how it will come back and it will make since even if we don't get to see it. All things that come around go around in the end and the good guys do finish last however, that's because the bad guys aren't here to see it lmao because fate bit them in the a**!Cool

This situation in my opinion could be one of two things. It could be simply the fact that you are not getting enough sleep would be simply the cause of the fatigue you are feeling in your legs and the weakness too. However, it may also be something more serious that may be only detected by medical diagnosis as well. There are conditions that cause you to not sleep such as insomnia or sleep apnea which will simply cause you to quit breathing in your sleep therefore when you wake up you have not had enough oxygen flow to the tissues you needed in the muscles in your body at night while you sleep leaving you fatigued and weak.

Other conditions in musculskeletal disorders like I have lupus fibromyalgia and many other conditions cause similiar symptoms as well. I agree with many other answers you have received from others on this question. You need to try to relax more at night to make sure it isn't a simple solution of stress related sleep issues that are causing you to not sleep adequately bringing on these symptoms and if they continue be prompt to follow up with a dr to have a physical examination. None of these conditions, not even apnea are usally terminal they are all treatable however, they do need to be diagnosed and treated. Most likely it will be fixed easily by a few simple test. I work in this field and have been through these test myself. You will have an MRI and an overnight oxymetery done both are simple and pain free and some blood work done. This combination should give you the answers you are looking for if the tea relaxing going to bed earlier and decreasing stress doesn't work first. Best of luck to you. Either way don't worry that only makes you stay awake May you have a good night sleep.

It has been suggested that perhaps you're not tired enough when you go to bed; my problem is usually just the opposite if I can't sleep...I'm overtired!  You know how children get when they get overtired?  Can't seem to wind down?  Same goes for grownups.

I didn't see your age, so I don't know if you're a teacher or a student, old or young.  However, if you were born before the polio vaccine came out, is it possible that you had a case of polio?  Even if it was so minor at the time; even if it was to the point where you were sick for a brief period of time but then, seemingly "got over it" and went on with your life?  Many of us who did have polio when it was of epidemic proportions in the US are now experiencing what is called Post-Polio Syndrome.  I'll not go into all the symptoms here; however, pain in the lower limbs and/or back is one of the first and longest-lasting symptoms.

Otherwise, I agree with the person who suggested possible MS (Multiple-Sclerosis).  I have several friends who have MS and leg pain, numbness, etc. are pronounced symptoms of that.  However, it's an ardent foe when it comes to diagnosis so be prepared for a long, involved process if you wish to be tested for it.  Hope my thoughts have been helpful.

Oh - one other thing.  Have you considered asking your doctor about a sleeping aid (pill)?  There are several new ones that are excellent and as long as you commit to getting 8-10 hours sleep, there is no "hangover" like what the old sleeping pills used to cause.  They were usually valium which is also highly addictive. These new aids aren't AS addictive as valium, but one can become dependent on them so they suggest that they not be used long-term.

Hi.

I suffered with these symptoms for years before I was diagnosed 3 years ago with Restless Leg Syndrome and Fibro Myalgia.

With RLS,your leg and sometimes arm muscles will feel tingly, with a pins and needles feel to them just when you are trying to relax,or go to sleep. It can make it almost ompossible to fall to sleep, then while you sleep, you legs continue to twitch and move al night, preventing you from ever really getting any good REM sleep, which results in loss of sleep and Fatigue.

I would research RLS,then call your Doctor.

That's true, you do need to get more sleep and consistent sleep and you might need to improve your nutrition as well, possibly by adding more protein to your diet.

I had the problem of leg weakness/fatigue and I started eating a banana a day and drinking lots of fluids especially juices that had potassium and folic acid and other vitamins and the problem went away  in a week or so. But I am 65 yrs old and you are young so you may have a different problem, but still the fruits and or fruit juices wont hurt you, may even help.Wish you the best.
