Hi there
Firstly to say that left kidney looks smaller is not a scientific thing to say. I would like to know how small? compared to the right kidney and what is the location as kidneys ascend from the pelvis. Another important thing is to find out if structurally it is normal or not. Sometimes due to rotation of the kidney there may be some foreshortening of the kidney whereas it is actually not short. I am sure that a repeat ultrasoung will definately confirm whichever way things are. Also find out as to are there any other associated anomalies.
In a normal human being left kidney is slightly bigger than the right kidney.
Regards
