Is Lasik Surgery expensive? Have they found any new information about it lately?
The cheapest offer I got was 4000$ per eye.
It was too expensive for me at the time...
The cost of Lasik can vary, but don't go for the cheapest offer or the "FREE" offers, the old saying "nothing is free" applies to Lasik Surgery as well. It really depends on which procedure your going to have as to the cost. Take a look at this article it really goes into great detail.
The costs will vary by your location and doctor. I've found it for $1,000 per eye in San Diego.

Read this article just issued by the FDA. They sent a letter to doctors requesting that they tell patients about risks associated with Lasik eye surgery after receiving numerous complaints from consumers who experienced double and fuzzy vision and painful dry eyes after getting the procedure.
The cost of LASIK varies primarily on technology use, experience of the surgeon, and the local market you are in. If you pay a very small amount for LASIK, you are likely to get older technology such as the microkeratome or noncustom LASIK. In addition, you should be careful of marketing schemes and low pricing advertising. Often, their is a tiered pricing scheme for LASIK.
Hope this helps:
