Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal -- is it permanent or not? I tried to read about this a bit and didn't quite understand what's going on.

Let me start off by saying I've never actually experienced laser hair removal myself.

However, I have a friend who did it, and another one who just checked out a few places and methods. It is my understanding that its never permanent. Basically after 10-12 times you notice a big difference in the density and texure of your hair, but you need about 20 treatments which take about a year all together to have all the hair removed from a certain area.

As the hair growth depends on physicality and hormons, you can remove it all at a certain age, and then at an older age - your hormons change and you can grow back the hair. If you're looking for numbers its 80% success. (thats what I've read).

 Good luck! :)

Well that depends on which type of hair color you have. For example, a friend of mine tried to remove his body hair by using laser, and he has red pegments in his hair color.. after a while it turned out that the hair color was too bright to be completely removed.. There was a huge improvement though..

Cool, thanks lior_p.

But did they say if the hair will grow back? Or when?

It is laser reduction and not removal. I got it done 5 few years ago and it has not grown back. I got there are least once a year for a touch up to target somehing like 10 hairs that have grown back. Results vary based on skin color, hair type, hormornal issues etc. But I say it works and I had about 8 sessions very 6-8 weeks- then i just got every year for a touch up.
