Yellow snow doesn't taste that bad.Tongue out

Laptop purchase advice...

I'm in the market for a laptop.  I need something for basic web surfing, downloading photos, generating documents, etc.  However, I don't want to spend over $1,200.00 or so on one.  I need a laptop that will not burn up on me either.  LOL!  Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.?  Help a brother out!  Thanks in advance...

Vaios are good, but a bit on the expensive side. Your needs are pretty basic and you can a cheaper laptop that will still do everything you need. How about

HPdv6000, for example?

"Sometimes when I go to bed and my dad turns off the lights, my bed becomes a Pirate Ship and I sail into the night…"

For the PC world, I would go with Dell. For light travel, go with the small one, or for all use, go with the 15.4” monitors. Good price, fast service and good external monitors / printers if needed. I have a older version of the Inspiron E1705 (17” monitor), so it is everything you need, but heavy. So if you want a desktop replacement – this is it.

They will cost you $600-1000.

Make sure to look for coupons in http://techbargains.com

For the Mac world, I would go with the MacBook Pro (15”) as you can take it high price, knowing you will use it for a long time…
