Laminate flooring and pet stains

I want to put in laminate flooring. Is laminate flooring good for people with dogs? Does the urine seep through? I will have some rugs and runners. What about accidents that happen on the rugs and I don't see them and they soak though the carpet onto the laminate flooring?

I hate my laminate flooring. Water does penetrate, especially at the joints. And, it is a pain in the rump to replace a few pieces. Get tile, or vinyl or even hardwood that the sealer goes over the spaces between each piece. And, you really have to use special cleaners for laminate or they look dull.
