Ladies only - would you trade your own voice for everlasting beauty?

You've just being approached by mysterious man. He could make you the most beautiful woman on Earth, the most lovely creature who walked earth or will ever be. Simply stunning, sexy and pampered, and actually unable to age. From the day of the pact to your death, you'll be all beautiful and pretty.

You'll only have to pay surrendering your voice, and living your "beautiful life" as a mute woman, unable to speak, not even a word. Would you still accept?

No way!  Besides, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • Keeping the conservative viewpoint relevant.

No.  There is much more to life that external beauty; the elements of comprising inner beauty: kindness, humility, faith in God, intelligence, eloquence, all of these have much deeper meaning and value then a stunning physical appearance.

I've read an interesting book about relationships a while ago which used the famous little mermaid fairy tale, saying that the trade of voice for appreciation of the opposite sex is something that still have a grasp in today's society and in the way women and men expect women to behave in a relationship - to forget herself and dedicate he efforts and energies at her husband \ children.

I think that to an extent, it's very true, I know it's much easier for me to help my husband then help myself. When I'm focusing on myself I tend to feel like I'm being selfish, while actually, I'm being responsible.

I would not trade voice for looks, I think that on superficial relationships, looks is very important, but when things are getting deeper, real open communication is much more important.

There are horrible little people here. Watch out!

Yes!  I would do it in a second!  I've always been such an expressive woman, passionate, and filled with opinions and ideas, lots to think and say..say..say!  While I am usually tactful, and like to think intellegent, I wish I could be quiet! Not always get so involved. It's almost like I can't stop myself!  I must talk, think, feel, solve and resolve!

How refreshing it would be to have no choice but to resign to being silent and beautiful.  Let everyone else tackle the ideas, aguements and solutions, while I'm nothing but pampered and admired for my exceptional beauty, unable to get old or get sick.. in silents.  Kiss
