LK Water cooler valve

Our church has a 6 year old LK water cooler that quit working. The problem was traced to a thermostat and it was replaced. The electric water valve started to leak as its supply line (3/8 copper) was disturbed and could not be stopped. The cooler is inoperative. How to reseal the plastic valve connections to the 3/8 soft copper lines or to replace the valve if necessary.Possibly the valve works like "shark bite"
