Both have some advantages on the other. Lots of web pages summarize the differences very good. Here are 2 of them: FlatT. and About.com.

Any pain or disappointment is transformed into growth and understanding.

Don't know very much about either. I liked the 2 answers that were given.

Both LCD and Plasma televisions are called

Flat Panel TVs. They look very similar and if you dont know, you probably can not tell them apart. But each has advantages and disadvantages. For example, plasma TVs may have a problem with 'burn-in'. This means if you have a static image (such as an off the area signal) for a very long time, you can destroy the screen. This does not happen with LCDs. But in some cases, the plasma can have advantages. For example, very large plasma TVs can be more affordable than similar size LCDs. So, the answer is that both types of television can be VERY good, but it all depends on what you look for. Click here to read more about flat panel TV.
