Kitchen Aid, clearly...

Kenwood recently adopted these very colorful models, (probably) trying to emulate Kitchen Aid success. However, Kitchenaid is more durable, they have better user interface (yes, it is important even in kitchen appliances), and if you ask me, they're prettier, though that is probably a minor consideration.

We have a Kenwood for the past six years and are not overly pleased so if we had to do it again we would certainly go for the KitchenAid. The main bowl of the Kenwood is made of rather poor quality plastic so that the handle which drives the main switch broke off and has to be assembled each time we use it. The mixer assembly is of the same quality plastic and is still OK because we are especially careful using it. The Kenwood also has a main switch that defies basic human engineering because it is round which makes it difficult to shut off when the hands are wet. And finally, the KitchenAid has a more powerful motor.

Kitchen Aid is by far the best mixer out there.  People may be happy with their kenwood, but i can tell you that Kitchen Aids are very durable and every chef in the world uses them...that should tell you something.

Kitchen Aid... I work professionally as a Chef and have had the same machine (for my personal use) for twenty three years.  We also use their industrial mixers in our professional kitchen.  They are fantastic!
