I don't think so.  There will always be people who are more open to physical affection than others.

Not a chance! The H1N1 hype will become a thing of the past long before the civility of a warm greeting.

jkgrandma:  OK, here we go.  Bless me Grandma, for I have sinned.  It has been a day or two since my last confession (I've been a really bad boy lately).

While not initiating this dispute, I did notice it and I fanned the flames on purpose.  I can be a real stinker and trouble maker at times.  I can even be an agent provocateur.  I think that this situation is a case in point.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea MAXIMO culpa.

I did not anticipate that things would get out of hand or that there would be any hard feelings or hurt feelings over what is basically silliness.  I never do seem to become cognizant of these things until it is too late.  I hope it's not too late now.

"Gentlemen cry peace peace, but there is no peace..."

May the Peace of God, that passeth all understanding, descend upon us all now and indwell our hearts and minds.  Amen.

Regards, MW

I don't think so. Using kissing as a form of saying hello might be widely accepted in certain cultures but shivered upon in others. Kissing helo is socially accepted in South Eastern Europe and in some countries of the South Western Europe, Latin America. In France among the 20- and 30-something generation it’s pretty much expected to kiss hello, even when meeting friends of friends for the first time. Kissing means only that you are in a certain circumstance, it doesn’t mean you have a special relationship.

jkgrandma:  Would you kindly consider letting Chaplain Kid out of his corner now?  He's starting to get on my nerves.  He keeps harping on me saying that I'm the Setting Sun.  I don't know whether he thinks that he's Copernicus or what.  I keep trying to explain to him that all planets revolve around me, but he just doesn't get it.  He even trys to back himself up with scripture.  It's really getting out of hand and I want him outta here.

Besides, it's Sunday and he has important work to do.  There'll be preachin' tonight, preachin' tonight, preachin' on the ole campground.

Your kind consideration of this matter and your anticipated cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Regards, MW

BTW, he's good.

Yes, MW. You and Kid may come out of your corners.

It seems you are the only one who was willing to accept full responsibility for your part in the nonsense, anyway.

(You may not have been aware of the part that occurred outside of Yedda's pages, but there was a whole lot of shoutin' goin' on.)

A tempest in a teapot, as it turned out.

The tumult and the shouting has died, the punishment is hereby released.

Go thou, and sin no more. At least, not any more today.

Thank you MW for asking jkgrandma  and thank you jkgrandma for letting us out of our corners. I think we were both getting on each others nerves, I kept telling MW I thought he was funny when he posted that comment to someone saying that "He Was The One   The One They Call The Setting Sun"  Laughing I still think it's funny.  I don't know where he got the Polish Astronomer from, but thats how confusing it was getting being in the corner together. I sure hope there was no real damage done to MW while we were in the conner, as to where he now looks at me like I am a Copernicus, or some kind of a Polish Astronomer. I  think MW is a good man and I respect him, aways have, and it sure would bother me for him to see me as being someone like Copernicus, I sure hope thats not the case.

I learned my lesson while in the corner, I will behave myself.

My regards, C. Kid
