I have to agree with you. Chocolate is definitely an unusual gift, especially for a girl who probably has never eaten chocolate in her entire life. Maybe it's for her family? or friends? Or maybe they're trying to tell her she needs to gain some weight? Or maybe the competition was sponsored by a chocolate company?

clearly the chocolate company was one of the sponsors, although more minor.  she will end up telling people what brand of chocolate (just like where the pearls came from) and the chocolate company will get publicity.  Im sure the chocolate company donated the chocolates to the miss america pageant, and trump thought it was a good idea to make it seem as if these poor girls are not starving themselves.  Like if she just bites a chocolate in front of the cameras it will mean that she isnt anorexic. somehow i doubt she will eat them all..

Yeah I would have to agree that the chocolate company was one of the main sponsors. She probably gave them away anyways.
