No way to know.... It's possible that he is cheating but his excuse might be 100% true....  Better be on alert and look for suspeciouse signs (you know, deep inside, what I mean).

Try gong on his walks with him and see where he goes and what he does.  One telephone call is not enough to get suspicious over.  He doesn't have a history of cheating if you started with him after the divorce was started.

Yeah, it's a very good idea to go with him on his walks so you will also be fit and will solve  the problem.  Possibly, too soon to suspect cheating especially  being gone for only 30  minutes.

At this age he may be re-evaluating his life and health and just decided to get off his butt and do something to improve himself.He also may be conscious of his apearance because of the age difference between you two.Are you absolutely sure he and his wife had drawn up papers before you started seeing him?My view on a cheater is:if they'll do it with you,they'll do it to you.That said,if your relationship was legit from the start,and these small changes in his behavior are your only clues,I would say let it go.HOWEVER,if all your instincts are screaming that something is up,it IS.A womans instinct is rarely wrong.
