That will depends on how old the kid is. If your child is below 12, chances are that he may not fully understand the dangers and may not be of age to discern if a stranger on the other side of the phone is calling with an ulterior motive. If you have a caller identification device, you may want to preempt your child to only answer calls from a list of 'pre-approved' callers. This is just in case if there really is an emergency call from a relative or some one he knows. Hope this helps
