Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Given the fact that WAMU's shares dropped 80 percent in the past year and the company reported $3 billion of losses during the past two quarters, if he wasn't forced to step down, he was probably pushed out. WAMU's official statement was: ``They're doing the things they've been forced to do as a result of decisions and business practices that they made years ago, we're certainly favorable on the split.'' I am sure he will be getting a golden parachute when he goes.

He was forced to step down as chairman.

At last report, he will still hold his position as CEO.
